Our

Story

At the heart of what we do is the belief that tech innovation is the most powerful tool for creating social impact, from revolutionizing healthcare to addressing climate change.

Kai Song’s EdTech startup uses data analytics to personalise learning so that no one gets left behind.

Zad researched on AI algorithms to better diagnose breast cancer and extend patients’ lives.

Jay built automations and AI systems within Malaysia’s largest bank, transforming how they operate.

Together, we’ve joined forces to inspire high school students, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to harness the defining technologies of our time and apply them to tackle real-world challenges.

While we can make an impact on our own, we believe the real power lies in empowering the next generation to drive change and scale solutions that matter.

Innovate with Tech and Build Real World Impact

Smart Safari: AI Monitoring of Elephants and Poachers

Each year, at least 20,000 African elephants are illegally killed. Yii Jie, Ashton, Hanif, Kuan, Amir, and Nicole came together to build a solution to address this threat.

Using what they learned from Hyperbyte's program, they trained an AI for real-time detection of elephants and poachers in a miniature safari.

Their solution can help authorities identify potential poaching activities across a large area and alert them timely!

Exploring the Unknown: A Journey Beyond Our Solar System

Exoplanet science remains largely unknown and the general public is often unaware of this fascinating field.

Aidil, deeply passionate about space exploration, developed a platform to provide information on distant planets and their characteristics. He even built an AI model to predict the atmospheric conditions and temperature of exoplanets.

Using engaging visuals and simulations, Aidil aims to spark curiosity and foster interest in space exploration!

SkinGuard: AI-Powered Skin Cancer Detection

Dominic developed an AI model designed to detect skin cancer accurately, aiming to support early diagnosis and improve patient outcomes, using just a cellphone camera.

This innovative approach allows users to send a picture and the system will use advanced image recognition technology to identify potentially cancerous skin lesions in real-time.

Dominic aims to make skin cancer detection more efficient and accessible for patients worldwide, especially in rural areas.

Meet Ham: Your Personal History Tutor

Alice has always found Sejarah (History in Malay) hard, so she turned her challenge into an innovative solution — Ham 🐹, an AI-powered hamster to help with Sejarah questions!

Ham doesn’t just know the syllabus and textbook by heart — it’s also fluent in Malay, available 24/7, and always available. It’s like having a personal history tutor, anytime, anywhere.

Alice plans to make Ham accessible to all SPM candidates, giving thousands of students a fun and interactive way to master one of their toughest subjects!

Participants

One of the standout moments was when we discussed AI bias. Analyzing the case where AI is used to predict recidivism was eye-opening. It shattered my earlier belief that AI is always fair—it really highlighted how human biases can seep into AI systems. This program didn’t just teach me about AI; it changed how I think about it.

Yii Jie, KYUEM student

As a Computer Science student, I found the program both fun and insightful. We even played some mini-games during breaks which kept the learning environment amazing and chill. The instructors were patient and supportive, making the experience impactful and enjoyable.

Kuan, Computer Science student

The content covered during the program was very well-structured. The instructors provided key visuals to help us understand the computational processes behind AI. Above all, the workshop fostered a welcoming environment for open discussions, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Ashton, A-Levels student

Participating in the program was definitely worth it. I gained a lot of insight into machine learning ranging from supervised to unsupervised learning. Not only that, I also learned how to evaluate the efficiency of the AI models built.

Amir, incoming Computer Science student

Zad's mentorship didn’t just enhance my applications; it elevated them. My application was able to be a standout, showcasing a polished and refined presentation of my achievements.

Nina, admitted to Princeton, UPenn & Columbia

The session on customer segmentation, where we built an algorithm using DBSCAN, inspired me to apply this technique in my research at UKM. Instead of relying solely on statistical analysis (ANOVA), I realized I could also explore distinct clusters within my Malaysian morality study data!
